Who are you, where are you from and what’s your mission at Jobspotting?
My name is Carrie, I’m from smack-bang in the middle of Ireland and I look after content and editorial.
When you’re not working, where are you most likely to be found?
Most likely having an over-caffeinated wander around.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
It changed from day to day, but probably some kind of telekinetic ballerina mermaid. Or possibly an off-the-grid wildling.
What is your pet hate?
People who are rude to service staff.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Although, it’s not a real guilty pleasure. I’ve been running a Bad Movie Night for the last few years, so I actively inflict them on myself (and anyone else who’ll submit).
Where is your favourite place?
Simon’s Place café in Dublin.
What TV show, past or current, would you like to have a cameo in?
Twin Peaks. I’d love to have some damn good coffee with Dale Cooper and The Log Lady.
What was the first album you ever bought?
I think it was an album by The Monkees. When I was a kid, I had no concept that TV re-runs from the ’60s weren’t the cool new thing. Frankly, I’m still confused by this.
What is your game-plan for the zombie apocalypse?
I’m not the most observant sort, and I talk to strangers a lot. Unless years of watching Buffy has somehow infused me with martial arts expertise, I imagine I’ll be one of the first picked off.
Tell me an interesting fact.
There are a species of ant called the Door Head Ant. Guess what they use their heads for!?
Listen to No Such Thing as a Fish. It’s my favourite source of random facts.
Who would play you in a TV movie about your life?
Lucy Lawless. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to being Xena.
What do you love about Berlin?
It’s a city of layers, all woven into one big graffitied mess. My kind of town.
What’s your secret talent?
I remember everyone’s birthday. Facebook stole my thunder on that one.
What’s your favourite quote?
“Everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise.” – Margaret Atwood.
Why do you like working at Jobspotting?
Everyone does their own thing, but works to a single goal. Somehow everyone manages to work at breakneck speed, and still be a calm, affable bunch of folks.
Oh, and I get to write all day long. #winningatlife
